Malvern Spa Association Announces Pause on Popular Well Dressing Minibus Tours for 2026

Every year, the Malvern Spa Association (MSA) has taken great pride in running its guided minibus tours at the start of Malvern Water and Well Dressing Festival. These much-loved tours, led by dedicated volunteers and driven by John Bibby, offer visitors a unique opportunity to explore some of Malvern’s most beautifully dressed wells.

As a not-for-profit organisation, the MSA has always provided this experience as a community offering. Ticket prices have been kept deliberately low, serving as a modest contribution toward running costs while ensuring the tours remain accessible to all.

For many years, the minibus tours have been a highlight of the annual festival. Previously, vehicles were hired from Malvern and District Community Action. However, following their recent decision to cease minibus hire for financial and operational reasons, the MSA has explored alternative options. Unfortunately, rising costs, particularly for vehicle hire and fuel, have made it unfeasible to continue the service this year.

This has been a difficult decision. While the tours have never been profit-making, they have played an important role in fulfilling the Association’s mission: “with the community, to protect, enhance, and promote knowledge of Malvern’s natural and cultural spring water heritage.” The tours have brought enjoyment not only to guests but also to the volunteers who give their time so generously.

Regrettably, the Malvern Spa Association will not be offering minibus tours for the Well Dressing Festival in 2026. The organisation remains hopeful that the service can resume in time for the 2027 festival.
