Until recently this Herefordshire spout flowed into a lovely little stone trough that could be found below British Camp, beside the junction of the A449 from Malvern to Ledbury, on the north-eastern side of the B4218 road leading to Colwall. The spring’s source is near Ockeridge Farm and local people from Ledbury and Colwall had regularly collected water from this spout until Ledbury Council unexpectedly capped it with brick and concrete in 2004. The new owners of the field above it had apparently begun to keep horses here and the water soon became polluted and unsafe to drink. It was beautifully Well Dressed by a local resident in 2003 but is now ‘lost’, hidden in the undergrowth beside the hedge.(RG 2007)
